The Valdosta Daily Times is looking for a competitive and confident Telesales Sales Account Executive to develop relationships with local business owners in Valdosta via outbound sales calls; Someone to help us meet and surpass business expectations and contribute to our company’s rapid and sustainable growth. A great Telesales Rep is patient, empathetic, and passionately communicative. They love to talk!

This is a great opportunity to join our industry-leading team in Digital and Print Media Sales. We offer the latest in digital advertising solutions, a monthly high-gloss magazine & special sections, as well as a daily newspaper that has been the standard local news for 150+ years.

This position requires exceptional communication, presentation and organizational skills, self-motivation and a strong customer service background. Experience in sales is preferred. Knowledge of print and digital advertising sales is helpful, but not necessary.

Responsibilities

• Conduct market research to identify selling possibilities and evaluate customer needs
• Maintain current client relationships & customer satisfaction
• Sell print & digital advertising over phone and email to businesses with no store-front; city and state, non-profits, political, churches, and walk-ins.
• Handle all major national sales and reconcile with pre-press daily
• Actively seek out new sales opportunities through cold calling, networking and social media
• Set up meetings with potential clients and listen to their wishes and concerns
• Prepare and deliver customized presentations on products and services
• Create frequent reviews and reports with sales and financial data
• Negotiate/close deals and handle complaints or objections
• Collaborate with team members to achieve better results
• Gather feedback from customers or prospects and share with internal teams
• Cover the front desk and phones as needed

Skills

• Proven experience as a Sales Executive or relevant role
• Strong phone contact handling skills and active listening
• Thorough understanding of marketing and negotiating techniques
• Fast learner and passion for sales
• Basic computer skills and ability to master computer programs to complete the required daily tasks.
• Self-motivated with a results-driven approach
• Aptitude in delivering attractive presentations
