Valdosta, GA – Girls on the Run South Georgia is excited to announce the successful completion of their Coach Training session on August 25th, held at the Historic Courthouse in downtown Valdosta. The training, which took place in preparation for the upcoming Fall 2024 season, welcomed an enthusiastic group of volunteer coaches who are dedicated to guiding young girls through this transformative program. The season will officially begin the week of September 9th and culminate on November 9th with the Girls on the Run 5K.
"We are thrilled to see our coaches come together to prepare for another incredible season," said Mary Crawford, Executive Director for Girls on the Run South Georgia. "The commitment and passion of our coaches are what make Girls on the Run such a transformative experience. We can't wait to kick off another season and continue inspiring girls across South Georgia!"
The Fall 2024 season will feature an exciting updated curriculum aimed at helping girls navigate life’s challenges, grow in confidence, and embrace a healthy lifestyle. As part of the 8-week program, girls will work towards completing a celebratory 5K—a tangible goal that reinforces their newfound confidence and sense of accomplishment. The Girls on the Run 5K, scheduled for November 9th, is not just a race but a community celebration that brings together families, friends, and supporters to cheer on every girl as they cross the finish line.
