The Buddy Walk® is a nationally recognized walk established in 1995 by the National Down Syndrome Society to celebrate Down syndrome awareness. There are several walks all over the US and the world and we are one of them! Check out walks in the US at this site: https://ndss.org/national-buddy-walk-program The South Georgia Buddy Walk® is an event that includes a walk, music, games, entertainment that aims to raise awareness, promote acceptance and inclusion of individuals with Down syndrome. It is an opportunity for the community to come together and celebrate alongside with friends and families of people with Down syndrome. All funds raised at the South Georgia Buddy Walk® will benefit local programs and services by DSASG as well as the initiatives of the National Down Syndrome Society (NDSS). You can start a team for your loved one with Down syndrome, register to walk, donate, or sponsor a team and your registration includes a 2024 South Georgia Buddy Walk® T-shirt and entrance to all the activities at the event. We will also have local vendors, food trucks, and local organizations. Sponsorships are available at various levels, each with their own perks, and you can sponsor a team or the overall event at the registration site under 'Be a Sponsor'. If you would like to set up a booth, please complete the Exhibitor Form available on the website. Sales of items are allowed and there's no charge to have a booth at the event, however, percentage of the sales or a donation to DSASG would be greatly appreciated.
