The Valdosta Chamber and First Commerce Credit Union awarded Javon Longieliere Photography, located at 1825 C Plum Street, Remerton, Georgia, as the March Small Business of the Month.

This Chamber program, sponsored by First Commerce Credit Union, was created to spotlight small businesses in our community that are making a big impact.

Javon Longieliere Photography has been a photographer for the last twenty years, with experience in the wedding industry, portraits, and commercial work.

In 2017, Longieliere published Destination Weddings: A Photographer’s Guide to Shooting in Exotic and Unexpected Locations, inspired by his time spent abroad shooting international weddings.

Having won numerous international awards from various photography organizations over the years, Longieliere’s most recent accomplishments include the silver medal at the International Photographic Competition and first place in Portraits at the State of Georgia annual competition.

“My core values for my studio have to be based on the idea that everyone has a story to tell. I try and focus on my clients when I have them in a session. My sessions are built around finding the soul of the person and conveying that in their images so that others who view the images can see that same personality and beauty. This is the main thing I strive to do in all of my sessions, no matter the type of session,” Longieliere said.

Also known for his Hometown Hero project, Longieliere documented our community’s frontline workers during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic and donated the images back to the individuals he photographed. This project gained him international exposure as well as prompted his induction into the Georgia Historical Society.

Today, you can find Longieliere working on his Faith, Hope, and Love project. During this project, he will be capturing portraits of individuals in our community that are going through or have gone through cancer. The project documents the various stages of treatment of cancer, from chemotherapy to recovery.
